The Glossary of Terms serves as a crucial guide to understanding the language of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (J.E.D.I.) that is essential to advancing efforts within our university community and beyond. It is our hope that this glossary will help foster a shared understanding of key J.E.D.I. terminology and concepts.
It is important to note that this glossary is not an exhaustive list, nor is it a static document. We understand that language is ever-evolving, and we are committed to updating the glossary on an annual basis to reflect the ongoing evolution of our community's understanding of J.E.D.I. terminology.
By utilizing this glossary, we can ensure that we are engaging in productive, respectful, and informed conversations around J.E.D.I. issues. We encourage all members of our community to familiarize themselves with the terms contained within this glossary and to use them as a tool for advancing our shared commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

OEI Cultural and Identity Based Resources
The OEI Repository serves as a toolshed for the various resources that may be needed in support of an individual, a situation, classroom, student, staff, faculty, and the university community. Resources are curated by examining the content and categorizing into areas of focus. OEI Repository is a community-wide effort where community members also share resources with the OEI. There is no “completion” of the repository as it is an on-going effort for resources on relevant and current events. The OEI Repository is a hub for various resources- areas of focus include but are not limited to:
- Affinity Group Resources
- Cultural Events
- Culturally Inclusive Curriculum
- DEI Nomenclature and Resource Materials
- Disability Critical Race Theory (DisCrit) & Accessibility
- Indigenous Recognition
- Military Service Advocacy
- Racial Trauma, Mental Health & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders
