Biography

Dr. Lindsay Chelekis is an Assistant Professor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Data Analytics for the School of Business and Professional Studies. Lindsay has been with University of Massachusetts Global since 2011 in various positions: Assessment Coordinator, Adjunct Faculty, Subject Matter Expert, and Instructional Designer. She was a vital member of UMass Global’s Center for Instructional Innovation (CII) for the over five years and has played a key role in the University’s GIS Committee. Lindsay has worked closely with full-time faculty and administration for many high-profile university-wide initiatives, including integrating GIS across several undergraduate and graduate programs. As the Lead GIS Instructional Designer, she also took on the responsibility of Project Manager for the new Master of GIS and Data Analytics program. She has been an active presenter at the Esri User and Education Conferences.
She has a diverse academic and professional background, comprised of interdisciplinary coursework, research, and real-world application of social science, business, GIS, organizational leadership, marketing, data analytics, and higher education. Lindsay holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, as well as a Master of Arts in Social Science with an emphasis in Demographic and Social Analysis and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with an emphasis in Research and Social Policy and a Minor in Management.
