Program Overview

This Bachelor of Science in computer information systems provides students interested in a career in information technology with an overview of IT analysis, design and project management, in addition to the management of network systems and information security. By engaging in our BS in computer information systems program, you can master IT fundamentals and grow in an emphasis area of information technology, business system administration, or project management. Specialize further with electives covering data encryption, risk management, database management, networks and more. Open new doors with a Bachelor of Science in Computing Technology.

As a computer technology student, you will:

  • Learn the structures of the hardware and software of a computer and networking system
  • Design, code and document programs
  • Develop the communication and ethical skills needed to excel in a business setting
  • Complete a capstone project, creating a set of systems analysis, design and implementation

    Admission Requirements

    Applicants for this Bachelor's program must complete the formal application process with all required documents, which include:

    • Completed application
    • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
    • Official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities attended
    • 12 or more transferable baccalaureate level credits or the equivalent

    Only credits from regionally accredited institutions may be accepted in transfer. Failure to report any previous academic work at another college or university may be considered a violation of academic integrity.

    BS in Computing Technology Program Curriculum

    • Bachelor degrees require students to complete a minimum of 120 semester units which include a combination of General Education requirements and program specific requirements. In the absence of sufficient transfer credit, students may need to take additional general electives to satisfy the 120 total units for the degree which a UMass Global Academic Advisor will help you evaluate.
