Maria Torre has taken the helm of the Brandman University Alumni Advisory Board. Torre received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Brandman University in 2012. A board member since 2014, Torre is an accounting and finance professional and contributes her expertise on these subjects to the board’s discussions.
Elected president to lead the board on January 15, Torre is an advocate for being “stubborn about your goals and flexible about your methods.” She is also making a run at an additional Brandman degree, this time pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computing Technology.
As board president, Torre succeeded David Moore, who earned his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership in 2009. Moore has served on the board since its 2012 founding and accepted its presidency in 2019. He has more than 25 years’ professional experience in higher education, specializing in advancement and is presently Chapman University’s assistant vice president of legacy planning. Moore continues to serve on the board.
Over the years since the Alumni Advisory Board’s formation, Brandman has increased its Alumni Scholarship award from $500 to $750 per honoree and has also established the Brandman Alumni Network. Alumni members can find peer mentors, access networking and volunteering opportunities, learn about job openings and receive other benefits on the platform. Network members also receive the Alumni Network Link newsletter, which keeps them informed of news from Brandman and alumni out in the world.
