June 10, 2021

The following content first appeared on the news page while UMass Global operated under its former name of Brandman University.

The Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI) is engaged in an ongoing project to compile resources aiding individual inquiry into diversity-related topics. For Pride Month, OEI recommendations are centered on Pride-related reading.

Pride Month resources:

  • LGBTQ Activism and Contributions” is a Library of Congress collection with a variety of readings and multimedia resources primarily designed to help classroom teachers.

  • 20 LGBTQ People Who Changed the World,” from The Advocate, is collection of brief bios of notable figures from world history, art, politics and other fields.

  • The LGBTQ Awareness Curriculum provides links to several activities related to fostering understanding of several subjects including coming out, terminology and “F(earfully) Asked Questions” pertaining to LGBTQ matters.

  • The Trevor Project delivers crisis and suicide prevention counseling to LGBTQ youth who are age 25 and younger.

  • 10 Ways to Celebrate Pride Month” from Thomson Reuters provides a list of festive and service-oriented options.
More information about the Office of Equity & Inclusion is available via email from [email protected] and online at the OEI website.
