Biography
Monica Shukla-Belmontes, Ph.D., is Associate Dean for Curriculum, Assurance of Learning and Competency-Based Education in the School of Business and Professional Studies at University of Massachusetts Global. Monica has been involved in the field of higher education since 2008. At University of Massachusetts Global, she has taught MBA and undergraduate courses in Statistics, Managerial Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Global Business. In addition, she has served on Competency-Based Education (CBE) committees including Program Council and the CBE Academic Affairs Operations Committee. In addition, she has developed five CBE economics competencies and oversees Business Program Reviews and Assessments.
Previously, Monica worked with Chapman University’s Student Affairs Department and University Advancement as the Alumni Networks & Outreach Manager. In addition to her experience in higher education, she has also worked in the fields of human resources, special events management, and business operations with companies including Capital Group Companies, M S International, Inc., and the Disneyland Resort. She has been published in the Journal of Business Case Studies and received a Best Paper Award Certificate at the Association for Global Business Conference. As an alumna of University of Massachusetts Global, she is also on the founding Board of Directors for the University of Massachusetts Global Alumni Association as a representative of the faculty.
