Make Your Military Training Count

UMass Global’s history is rooted in serving military service men, women and their families. That’s why we’ve partnered with most military and public service organizations to ensure you get credit for the things you’ve already learned. Using ACE guidelines, you can turn your military coursework, training and service into credits towards your degree.

We’re more than just military friendly.

Whether you are still on active duty, transitioning to civilian life or retired, UMass Global is designed to serve the educational goals of our military men, women and their families. That’s why we offer reduced military rates and support staff who are retired military themselves and are dedicated to serving our active duty and retired students. UMass Global also partners with the Yellow Ribbon Program, GI Bill Program and more to ensure a smooth transition that optimizes your military benefits.

Your military coursework, training and experience can convert to academic credit utilizing the American Council on Education (ACE) Credit Evaluation guidelines. If you’re ready to earn your degree, ACE means you can get to graduation faster.

  • Military students are awarded 6 credits for their service
  • Specific courses and occupations offered by all branches of the military may qualify for additional credits
  • Credit recommendations appear on your Joint Services Transcript (JST)
  • UMass Global will accept these credits which can articulate to a discipline, major, or emphasis area depending upon the ACE recommendation
