As you prepare to begin or continue your degree program, review the steps below for applying to an undergraduate degree program.
Beyond the requirements for being admitted to the university, some degree programs have additional requirements.
Create application account and complete your application. All additional documentation required should be submitted to the Office of Admissions by mail, email, or fax. Do not fax transcripts or test scores.
Please review our guidelines for ordering transcripts, it will save you time and frustration. Official transcripts are sent directly to the Office of Admissions from your previous schools.
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
The prospective University of Massachusetts Global undergraduate student must demonstrate readiness to succeed in undergraduate-level academic coursework by satisfactorily fulfilling the following admission requirements, which apply to degree programs at the associate’s and bachelor’s level. Specific program admission requirements, when present, must also be met.
Evidence of high school completion or equivalent is required, which may consist of a high school diploma or transcript, a General Education Development (GED) certificate, a state-authorized high school equivalency certificate or diploma, a state-recognized Home Study certificate or transcript, or a document from an approved foreign evaluation service certifying completion of international high school coursework equivalent to a United States high school diploma.
Students must take LBSU 100 (Student Success Strategies) during their first session of coursework if they are admitted without a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for courses from regionally accredited institutions, and/or without twelve (12) or more transferable credits. The 12 credits may consist of all or any combination of the following credit types: University of Massachusetts Global coursework, coursework from regionally accredited post-secondary institution(s), military, dual credit, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, approved PLA (Prior Learning Assessment), CLEP, (College Level Examination Program), Defense Language Proficiency Examination (DLAT/DLPT) and DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) scores, and ACE or University of Massachusetts Global evaluated trainings.

UMass Global offers an Academic Fresh Start program for undergrad students with past academic performance not reflective of their current ability to be successful.
You can elect to have all academic and military coursework, completed at any institution of higher education 10 or more years prior to the time of application, ignored for admission purposes.
Submit an Undergraduate Application for Admission
- Complete all required sections of the online application.
- The same application is used by all University of Massachusetts Global undergraduate applicants, so make sure to check for additional program-specific requirements and forms before submitting.

Send Us Your Official Transcripts
Submit official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities you have attended. That’s every college/university/career institution/military institution/etc. If any are missing from the list, your application will be delayed.
Once all documents have been received, your application will be evaluated, and you will be notified by email of our admission decision.
What do we consider official transcripts?
- Electronic: must be sent from your previous institution directly to us - University of Massachusetts Global Admissions Office at apply@umassglobal.edu.
FYI - electronic transcripts that have been emailed to the applicant and then forwarded to the Admissions Office are not considered official.
- Paper: transcripts sent via paper format must arrive to the Admissions Office in a sealed envelope from the institution of record.
