ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (October 28, 2025) — University of Massachusetts Global announces the launch of its dynamic Bachelor of Science in Human Resources (BSHR), with classes beginning Spring I on January 12, 2026. Designed for career-focused adult learners, the BSHR program equips students with practical, people-centered skills in talent acquisition and development, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation and benefits, administration, and strategic human resource management — all taught by industry-experienced faculty.

Delivered fully online, this comprehensive program enables working professionals to balance their studies with personal and professional commitments while gaining the expertise needed to lead and innovate in modern workplaces.

“Our BS in Human Resources program offers a comprehensive, people-first education that prepares students to drive organizational success through strategic talent management, ethical leadership, and workforce innovation. By combining real-world HR expertise, technology-driven curriculum and practices, and flexible career pathways, this program empowers graduates to foster positive workplace cultures, champion employee well-being, and effectively address the evolving needs of today’s organizations,” said Dr. Jennifer Teague, Dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies at UMass Global.

Flexible start dates and a generous transfer policy allow students to begin on their terms and apply up to 90 credits from prior education, experience, or military training toward their degree — potentially finishing in as few as ten courses. The program not only covers core HR competencies but also business fundamentals, data-driven strategies, and opportunities to build concentrations in fields like Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Legal Studies, enabling students to tailor the degree to their own career ambitions.

Graduates of UMass Global’s BS in Human Resources are prepared for a wide range of rapidly growing and in-demand roles such as Human Resources Generalist, Talent Acquisition Specialist, Benefits and Compensation Specialist, and Training and Development Specialist. The degree also provides pathways to advanced study, including the Master of Science in Human Resources (MSHR) and foundational knowledge to prepare for the prestigious SHRM certification.

Prospective students are encouraged to contact UMass Global Enrollment Coaches for more information about transfer policies, financial aid, and how to get started on a rewarding career in human resources.
