Overview
Implementing Security Core Technologies equips students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to pursue entry-level careers as security specialists. This career-focused online course emphasizes practical experience and builds a strong foundation in network security principles, tools, and configurations essential for protecting modern networks. As the first course in a two-course sequence, it also prepares students to sit for the Cisco CCNP Security Certification exam.
Students gain real-world experience through a variety of hands-on labs, including procedural and troubleshooting exercises, skills integration challenges, and model-building. All labs can be completed using Cisco Packet Tracer, with most chapters featuring cumulative challenges to reinforce learning.
Delivered through UMass Global’s LIVE ONLINE format using advanced video conferencing technology, this course provides the same expert instruction and interactive experience as an in-person classroom.
