Leslie Jaber-Wilson

Biography

Dr. Jaber-Wilson earned her BSW, MSW and Doctorate in Social Work (DSW). She has been a social work educator and social work program administrator for 17 years. She has over 30 years of experience in direct social work practice in a variety of settings.  Dr. Jaber-Wilson is an advanced practice social worker in Wisconsin and has training as an adoption competent clinician. She has experience in child welfare, therapeutic foster care, mental health, non-profit creation and management, and quality and risk management. She worked closely with the National Alliance on Mental Illness-Fond du Lac Chapter to create and fund a mental health drop-in center and served on their board for many years, offering grant writing and training. She serves as a grant reviewer for the United Way in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Dr. Jaber-Wilson started a treatment foster care agency and continues to train foster parents and foster care social workers and facilitates foster parent support groups. She believes strongly that to decrease loyalty conflicts and feelings of ambiguous loss and to promote reunification for children placed in foster care, foster parents and birth parents must work closely together in co-parenting.
