Courses Included in this Certificate:
- Medical-Related Benefits
A 2022 survey by AHIP determined that 56% of employees will make the decision to leave or stay at an organization based on their health benefits. Medical benefits can not only impact retention, but also internal and external perception, rates of absenteeism, and financial repercussions.
We will review questions such as: which group health plan can best support an organization's strategic goals? What options are available to ensure the medical-related benefits included are a good fit for your employees? How can HR executives help design a benefits plan in order to address all aspects of employee health, including mental health?
This course will guide you in designing, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting your organizational medical benefit plan to meet specific goals. - Retirement Plans
An understanding of retirement planning provides HR professionals with the tools needed to attract and retain top talent. In this 200-level course, you will explore private employer-sponsored plans, federal-sponsored plans, and retirement plans sponsored by financial institutions. You will learn how to help employees with retirement planning, design retirement plans, and assess how restructuring, federal legislation, and portfolio allocation impact retirement funds. This course also presents a model for ethical decision-making and analyzes the ethical components of specific retirement-related issues. - Supporting Health and Wellness
Benefits packages are an important way for organizations to support health and wellness and demonstrate genuine care for their employees. A valued and effective benefits package focuses on benefits that support mental health, physical well-being, and financial well-being. In this course, you will learn how to create benefits offerings tailored to your workforce, and applicable in different work models. You will examine how legal and voluntary benefits support health and wellness and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. You will also learn about how to create a strong ethical culture that fosters employee wellness. By genuinely addressing employees' needs, organizations can offer benefits that support employees and strengthen employee engagement, retention, productivity, and other key indicators.
This course includes an “Ask the Expert” feature. You can use this feature to submit questions about course content. A subject matter expert will provide guidance or point you to additional resources for the topics you’re studying. Questions are answered as quickly as possible and usually within 24 hours.
