Brianna Belcher

Meet Brianna (Bri) Belcher, a Detroit native with a zest for life that’s as vibrant as the Motor City itself! A proud Michigan State University alum (Go Green!), Bri holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
As a passionate foodie, Bri loves to explore the culinary delights of each destination while traveling the globe. Whether savoring street food in Greece or indulging in a cozy bistro in Jamaica, the world is Bri’s oyster—always ready for the next flavor adventure!
In the realm of academia, Bri is a dedicated educator who thrives on mentoring future social workers. With a dynamic career spanning medical social work, suicide prevention, clinical therapy, and research, Bri brings a wealth of experience to the classroom. Previously serving as an adjunct professor for two years, Bri was promoted to Assistant Professor, supporting the multi-year grant from the California Department of Health Care Access and Information. Currently delving into topics like social justice, community empowerment, and law & ethics, Bri is passionate about integrating real-world experiences with theoretical knowledge.
Additionally, Bri is actively involved in initiatives aimed at enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion and advocating for marginalized populations. Whether presenting at conferences or collaborating on impactful studies, Bri is committed to advancing the field and promoting evidence-based practices.
When not busy in the classroom or on a global adventure, you can find Bri enjoying quality time with family, exploring new recipes, or planning the next big trip. Always ready to embrace new experiences, Bri believes that life is best lived through connection, compassion, and a little bit of culinary curiosity!

2022-2024: Case Manager, After Innocence
- Conducted intake interviews with clients, developed service plans for the exoneree, oriented the exoneree to the resources available and assisted with all application processes.
2019-2021: Director of Clinical Services, CAO/CFO Homes
- Oversaw the clinical aspects of the agency ensuring the high standards of our accredited bodies, Medicaid, as well as any state or federal guidelines were being me to ensure our clients receive the highest quality of services.
