Biography
Mr. Victor Woolridge leads the U.S. debt capital markets activities for Baring Real Estate equities, which formulating debt strategies for the various real estate equity portfolios of assets and individual assets in Barings’s equity real estate portfolio. Other responsibilities include execution and reporting of derivative trades to manage interest rate risk, and as a member of the firm’s Libor Steering Committee formed to coordinate the smooth transition of Libor to a replacement index for the real estate business unit. He has previously managed loan restructures and trouble asset resolutions in the special servicing unit of Barings Real Estate’s predecessor Cornerstone's Real Estate Advisors.
Prior to Cornerstone, Mr. Woolridge was a Managing Director for Babson Capital Management responsible for the origination, structuring and distribution of commercial mortgage investments for external clients. Third-party client activities included advisory activities on whole loan transactions, structured loan participations, mezzanine and other subordinate debt structures, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) and the creation of commercial mortgage investment funds. Mr. Woolridge joined Cornerstone in 2010, its affiliate Babson Capital Management, in 2000 and MassMutual in 1980. Victor is a designated Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and served on the Bankruptcy Working Group established by the MBA to formulate and implement the industry’s bankruptcy relief policy during the late 80’s and early 1990’s. Mr. Woolridge has been a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and is a current investment committee member of the Springfield Venture Fund and Life Initiative investment committee which finances community based non-profit entities across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
