Commencement Terms & Conditions
By attending the UMass Global Commencement, you agree to adhere to the terms and conditions set by the university.
Security Screening & Clear Bag Policy
All graduating students and their guests will be required to enter the event through a metal detector or Evolv screening, which may include a bag search. Clear bags are required for commencement. Please do not bring any large bags or prohibited items to this event. Strollers will not be allowed inside the venue, but baby carriers are permitted. We encourage our graduating students and guests to review the full Clear Bag Policy for size restrictions.
Prohibited Items
No food, beverages, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, party novelties, confetti, balloons, noisemakers, selfie-sticks, signs, or non-service pets are permitted. Possession of weapons at a university-sponsored event is prohibited, including but not limited to all types of knives, firearms, and fireworks.
*Note: Manufacturer sealed bottles of water and empty reusable water bottles are permitted in the venue. Refill stations are available inside the venue. No glass, metal, hydro flask, canteen, or backpack-style Camelbacks permitted.
Photo & Video Release
UMass Global Commencement and Hooding ceremonies are public events that are videotaped, photographed, and recorded for personal and commercial use. By participating in and/or attending these events, you give UMass Global, their affiliate universities, and venue partners permission to use visual images (photo, video, digital in any form) of you — including materials modified, enhanced, or altered using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies — for any lawful purpose related to the university or venue's business activities, including marketing, advertising, and promotion. By participating and/or attending these events you understand that you have waived any rights that you may have to inspect or approve of the images or wording in the final product that may be used in connection with the university's business activities.
Health & Safety
Attendees are encouraged to stay home if they have been exposed to COVID-19 or have any related symptoms. A full list of our health and safety protocols are available on the commencement website.
