About Kyle
Kyle Menig helps leaders get unstuck and build teams that work better—together. With deep experience coaching, consulting, and leadership development, he’s spent his career guiding people and organizations through change, growth, and the messy middle. His background spans sectors and continents, from international nonprofits to executive teams in tech, healthcare, and government.
At the heart of his work is a simple belief: leadership is about people, not just performance. Kyle combines practical tools with relational insight to help leaders become Relationally Smart™ to grow confidence, navigate conflict, and build cultures that don't just talk about trust—they live it. A master facilitator in SDI® (Strength Deployment Inventory) and certified in multiple assessments, he’s known for making complex dynamics easier to understand and impossible to ignore.
When he’s not coaching or leading offsites or workshops, Kyle’s probably somewhere outdoors with his wife and three kids—surfing, hiking, or searching for the best street tacos in Southern California.
What makes a coaching relationship great?
A great coaching relationship feels less like a transaction and more like a partnership—with honesty, trust, and a shared belief in what’s possible. I show up fully, ask direct questions, and create space for people to be real—even when the real is messy. That’s where growth starts.
Trust isn’t automatic. It’s built when someone feels seen, not just managed. I believe in helping people see where they are without judgment and where they could go—with courage. My role is to guide them through the hard parts, challenge their thinking, and help them take meaningful steps forward. Growth takes work—but it doesn’t have to be done alone.
What characteristics do you admire?
Integrity is at the top of my list. I respect people who live aligned—who don’t just say the right things, but live them. I also admire empathy, not as a buzzword, but as the ability to pause and truly understand someone else’s world. And finally, adaptability. Plans are great until life punches you in the mouth (thanks, Mike Tyson). Leaders who can pivot, listen, and respond with creativity and calm make everyone around them better.
What makes a perfect day off?
Strong coffee. No alarms. A good surf session or a long trail with no signal. Add tacos, time with my family, and something that ends with a fire pit—and that’s about perfect.
