The National Association of Social Work (NASW) Code of Ethics, updated in 2021, now explicitly requires social workers to prioritize professional self-care to maintain competence and prevent harm to clients. This includes practicing self-reflection, managing workloads, and connecting with support systems to prevent burnout, compassion fatigue, and ethical issues. *
Achieving work-life balance for behavioral health professionals involves setting clear boundaries, prioritizing self-care, using support systems, and leveraging flexibility. Self-care plays a critical role in supporting physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social health. In this webinar, participants will explore the 6 domains of wellness and discover practical strategies for preventing burnout. The session will emphasize the power of mindfulness, an evidence-based approach proven to reduce stress and enhance self-care.
