Culturally Competent Care: A Path to Inclusivity for Behavioral Health Professionals

Through culturally competent care, the client’s culture, race and ethnicity is considered when determining diagnosis and treatment plans. In this webinar, behavioral health professionals will learn the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide culturally competent and inclusive care. Cultural humility, effective treatment methods for diverse populations, and strategies for creating safe and welcoming environments for clients from various backgrounds will be discussed.

In this webinar participants will: 

• Define cultural competent care within the behavioral health field
• Understand how practicing cultural humility and self-reflection cultivates self-awareness, growth, and rapport between the client and provider
• Learn how to effectively communicate across cultures

Participants will be awarded 1 CE credit for attending this webinar.

This webinar is eligible for 1 Continuing Education (CE) Credit for recertification by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). To earn 1 CE credit, participants must be a California residents and attend the free webinar or watch the recording. Participants must register and successfully complete a multiple-choice assessment and evaluation to receive a certificate of completion.
