Dr. Ellen Belluomini, Ph.D., LCSW, is an MSW graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago (1993) and earned her Ph.D. at Walden University (2016). With over three decades of professional experience, Dr. Belluomini has made significant contributions across various sectors of social work, including technology integration, homelessness, substance abuse, trauma, military culture, mental health, sexuality, LGBTQIA, and family dynamics. Her innovative leadership and program development skills have been pivotal in crafting tailored services to meet both community and individual needs.

In 1995, Dr. Belluomini began her academic service, initially, as a part-time educator and field supervisor across several educational institutions. Her commitment to academia transitioned to a full-time role in 2014, where she has since excelled in curriculum development encompassing a broad range of human services education, both online and in-person. Notably, she established a pioneering concentration in military social work at Dominican University and developed curriculum for over 45 courses in social work, psychology, and applied behavior sciences.

Dr. Belluomini's expertise extends beyond the classroom; she is a recognized national and international speaker and writer, addressing the evolving landscape of social work. Her engagements have included over 100 seminars aimed at enriching the ongoing education of social workers and educators, with a focus on ethics, technology integration in practice, and effective communication. As a writer, she contributed to the New Social Worker magazine and maintains the influential blog “Bridging the Digital Divide in Social Work Practice,” where she explores the intersection of technology and the future of social work, advocating for progressive strategies in education and practice. Dr. Belluomini's work is a testament to her visionary approach and unwavering dedication to the future of social work.
