Dr. Sandy Howard

Dr. Sandy Howard is an Assistant Field Director of Education and Associate Professor in the School of Social Work for the School of Arts and Science at the University of Massachusetts Global, Irvine, CA. Dr. Howard, retired in September 2021 with 18.5 years in child welfare, experience and served in many roles as a supervisor and lead trainer. In 2018, Dr. Howard co-presented on Using Employee Engagement and Strength-Based Leadership Strategies to Support the Health, Safety, and Well-being of Children and Families at the Child Welfare League of America conference.
Dr. Howard continues to work as a lead expert with Riverside County DPSS, Children’s Services to help redesign the training program for new hires to ensure families have continuity in services with trained professional social workers. Given that turnover rates of child welfare social workers increase the level of vulnerability for children who have been abused and neglected. Dr. Howard’s passion for social work, has led her to a true purpose of training the next generation of inspiring social workers.
