TEACH Grant

TEACH is a federal award which provides funds to students who are completing coursework that is required to begin a teaching career. Recipients must agree to serve as a full-time teacher in a high-need field in a low-income school for a minimum of four years.

  • Eligibility: Students who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 when enrolled in one of the following UMass Global programs:
    • BA.LIBS (MTC Concentration – Integrated California Multiple Subjects Teaching Emphasis)
    • MA.TCH (SE Concentration)
    • MA.TCH (EE Concentration)
    • MA.TH.10.MM
    • MA.TH.10.MS
    • MA.TH.10.MMS
  • Award: Bachelor's degree: up to $16,000; Master's degree: up to $8,000

The Bright Futures Scholarship

  • Eligibility: For graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled undergraduate students, and reentry students pursuing a first associate (AA) or bachelor’s (BA) degree, and graduate students who can demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Must be currently residing in California.

AFCEA War Veterans Scholarship (Undergraduate Only)

  • Eligibility: Students must be on active duty in the uniformed military services or honorably discharged veterans of the Enduring Freedom — Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom Operations (2004 - present), and they must be currently enrolled and attending classes in an eligible STEM major degree program. Please see source for additional details.

STEM students — you may be eligible for added benefits

If you’re a veteran using the Post-9/11 GI Bill or are a Fry Scholar, you may be eligible for additional benefits of up to nine months or $30,000.

You must:

  1. Be enrolled in a qualifying STEM program,
  2. Have completed a certain amount of time on your degree,
  3. Have six months or less of your benefits left (if you apply too soon, you’ll be denied).
