Dr. Amy Burks-Stewart serves as Associate Dean for the School of Business and Professional Studies at UMass Global. She brings more than two decades of experience in higher education, business administration, and digital marketing, with a career defined by innovation in competency-based education (CBE) and online learning design.

Prior to joining UMass Global, Dr. Burks-Stewart spent over a decade at Southern New Hampshire University, where she led academic teams supporting more than 8,000 learners and 135 faculty across domestic and international programs. In her leadership roles, she advanced the university’s mission of expanding affordable, career-relevant learning through operational improvement, data-driven curriculum design practices, and AI-infused educational innovation.

Dr. Burks-Stewart’s extensive background includes curriculum development for business and marketing programs, academic operations management, faculty mentorship, and strategic planning for large-scale initiatives. She has presented nationally on topics such as learner motivation, social impact measurement, and the delivery of workforce-oriented education.
