Master of Social Work degree program gains accreditation

Brandman University's Master of Social Work program, initiated in 2018, has received accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. The body also accredits the university’s Bachelor of Arts in Social Work program.
The Council on Social Work Education's decision, made in February, enables all students who have earned a Master of Social Work degree from Brandman the right to declare they received their degree from an accredited program. The accreditation would remain valid following the completion of the university's pending affiliation with the University of Massachusetts, which would result in Brandman changing its name and operating as the University of Massachusetts Global.
“This milestone marks the culmination of a remarkable ten years of continuous work by the social work faculty to create professionally-accredited social work programs,” Chancellor Gary Brahm said. “My heartfelt congratulations go to the dedicated Social Work team for their hard work and perseverance.”
