Added Authorization, Multiple Subject Credential

This authorization program, comprised of just two courses, is designed for teachers who already hold a Single Subject Credential in California and want to teach in both multiple- and single-subject environments.

Multiple Subject Program Overview

Authorized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the Multiple Subject Added Authorization provides additional training to teachers who have already earned a Single Subject Credential in California and want to expand their knowledge to teach multiple subjects. You’ll gain a foundation for teaching literacy and language in K-8 classrooms. Plus, you’ll select one course from a specialized area of interest — mathematics, science, history, social science, or visual/performing arts — for additional focus.

As a student, you will:

  •  Develop skills in teaching reading
  • Learn how to teach mathematics, science, or history, social science and visual/performing arts to K-8 students
  • Gain the expertise to teach in multiple subject, K-8 classrooms.

    Meet Our Faculty

My academic advisor was a great support system. He was my advisor throughout my program and he took the time to learn about me personally so we could make the best schedule to accommodate my life.

My first experience with Brandman* was when I was a special education teacher when my district paired up with them for an autism certificate.  I liked it because I was able to still work and do everything else I needed to do.
