Added Authorization, Single Subject Credential

For California teachers who have a single subject teaching credential but want to expand their subject expertise and career options, this added authorization involves just a single class and is accredited by the CTC.

Single Subject Teaching Credential Program Overview

Authorized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the Single Subject Added Authorization provides additional training to teachers who have already earned a single subject or multiple subject credential in California and want to expand their knowledge to teach an additional subject. You will select the subject and take the requisite single course. To add the Single Subject Credential, you will need to show competence with the new material by passing the appropriate CSET exam.

  • Develop skills in teaching one specific single subject content area
  • Gain the expertise to teach at a junior high or high school level.

My first experience with Brandman* was when I was a special education teacher when my district paired up with them for an autism certificate.  I liked it because I was able to still work and do everything else I needed to do.
