The Boston Business Journal reported on University of Massachusetts Global’s new collaboration with Mass General Brigham, a major healthcare provider in the Bay State. UMass Global will enroll Mass General Brigham employees and unemployed individuals in training designed to prepare learners for front-line healthcare jobs. The project also involves the University of Massachusetts Office of the President and Boston city officials. Participating organizations have announced plans to pay particular attention to communities of color in and around Boston while signing up new students.

From the article:

“Mass General Brigham, the state’s largest hospital system and largest private employer, and UMass Global, an online education affiliate of the University of Massachusetts, are part of an effort Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced in August. The plan, funded by money from the American Rescue Plan Act, is to train and find jobs for more than 4,600 people in targeted industries including healthcare, clean energy, and child care.”
