Dr. Jeannine Meza

Dr. Jeannine Meza is an Associate Professor of Social Work at UMass Global. Dr. Meza’s primary responsibilities at UMass Global include teaching, mentoring, program development, and course development and oversight. Prior to serving at UMass Global, she served as faculty in social work and Title IV-E Practicum Coordinator at California State University, San Bernardino from 2012-2018. She received the “Most Inspiring Professor” award in 2015, "Most Outstanding Faculty Member" award in 2016 from the CSUSB Social Work Student Association, and the BASW Faculty of the Year award in 2022 from UMass Global’s Social Work Department. She has 24 years of social work experience working primarily in child welfare, child and adolescent mental health, juvenile justice, and school social work settings. She has served as faculty advisor for the UMass Global Social Work Student Association, as a member of the social work department's ADEI subcommittee, as a member of faculty governance on the Faculty Personnel Committee, and as a faculty equity advisor through UMass Global’s Office of Equity and Inclusion. Her areas of interest include diversity, equity, inclusion, intersectionality, power analysis, anti-racism (DEIPAR), assessment, implicit curriculum, and student engagement and retention. Dr. Meza earned her DSW at Simmons University, her MSW at the University of Southern California, and her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA.
