IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2020) - Brandman University’s campuses in Irvine and San Diego recently hosted practicing and future nurses to immersion sessions providing opportunities for hands-on learning and in-person interactions between faculty and students during the week of Jan. 13-17.

In Irvine, about 90 students who had traveled from several U.S. cities gathered at the Marybelle and S. Paul Musco School of Nursing and Health Professions. The Irvine sessions were open to practicing nurses working toward a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. The degree qualifies students for advanced clinical practice, and Brandman students may choose to prepare for specializations as nurse practitioners delivering psychiatric and mental health care or family practice.

An additional 24 students attended immersion sessions in San Diego for the university’s new pre-licensure Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Students in this program will begin core nursing courses this summer with a new, state-of-the-art skills lab at the San Diego campus.
