Faculty member Lata Murti, associate professor of sociology, contributed her knowledge of the dynamics of diverse communities and work environments to WalletHub’s report centered on its new rankings of the United States' most-diverse cities.

“Overall, I think more diversity leads to a stronger economy as the U.S. as a whole can benefit from the variety of perspectives, experiences, connections, and approaches of a diverse younger generation. It does mean, however, that established economic institutions and ways of conducting business will be challenged and, in some cases, rejected,” Murti told WalletHub. “This may mean that the U.S. experiences some temporary, economic growing pains; but, in the long term, it will benefit, particularly in terms of global, cross-cultural economic relations.”
