Find Your People and Deepen Your Community Connections

Student organizations and clubs at UMass Global are built for busy, working adults who want connection, support from mentors and peers, and impact alongside their coursework. Join virtually to explore your interests, learn from industry-experienced faculty and guest speakers, and collaborate with peers who share your goals.

  • Build a powerful network of student peers, faculty, alumni, and employer partners across regions and industries.
  • Gain practical experience through discussions, projects, events, and leadership roles that translate into valuable, marketable skills.
  • Strengthen your resume and LinkedIn profile with hands-on involvement, volunteer positions, and achievements.

  • Stay connected to UMass Global alumni and potential mentors who understand the realities of going back to school as an adult learner.

Meet Our Clubs & Communities!

Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society

Alpha Sigma Lambda is UMass Global’s only university-wide honor society, recognizing high-achieving adult and nontraditional students who excel academically while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities. Membership is by invitation based on national GPA and unit-completion criteria, and the chapter typically meets about 4x per year, including an annual induction ceremony.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club is a student-led community for anyone interested in psychology — open to undergraduates, graduates, alumni, faculty, and students from any major who want to explore the field beyond the classroom and build professional connections. The club hosts virtual events about once a month (except Summer 2) and stays in touch through a monthly newsletter and periodic emails.

Pregnant and Parenting Scholars Organization

The Pregnant and Parenting Scholars Organization connects UMass Global students who are pregnant or parenting with a supportive peer community that understands the realities of juggling school, work, and family. All students are welcome to join, and the group meets once per session via Zoom to share resources, advice, and encouragement.

Social Work Student Association (SWSA)

The Social Work Student Association is open to all BSW and MSW students who want to build connections, deepen their practice skills, and stay engaged with issues shaping the profession locally and globally. SWSA meets on the first Monday of every term (except Summer 2) at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST, offering space for peer support, guest speakers, and discussions about social work careers.

Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social Workers

Phi Alpha is the nationally recognized honor society for social work students that celebrates academic excellence and a shared commitment to humanitarian values and professional standards in social work. UMass Global’s Beta Gamma Delta chapter invites eligible BASW and MSW students who meet national GPA and coursework requirements 3x per year — in the fall, spring, and summer terms.

Student Veteran Association (SVA)

The Student Veteran Association (SVA) at UMass Global is a student-led community where veterans, service members, and military affiliated students connect, share experiences, and access tailored support throughout their academic journey while building skills, networks, and confidence for life after graduation. SVA meets monthly and extends an open invitation to the entire UMass Global community.
