Discover Newsroom: Discover offers employees a full-ride bachelor's degree program
The following content first appeared on the news page while UMass Global operated under its former name of Brandman University.
Discover announced a new education assistance benefit for all its eligible U.S.-based employees. Brandman University is one of three universities whose online degrees will be eligible for the benefit.
“We are proud to work with Discover to offer this extraordinary benefit to their employees. Our career-focused degrees will help enable individual employees to achieve their goals and will help elevate the work of the company overall. Our student support and proven outcomes will change the lives of those who take advantage of this incredible opportunity,” said Chancellor Gary Brahm.
The Discover program is being launched through the Guild Education platform, just as the recent Walmart education benefit is. "Discover’s meaningful investment in employees is incredibly rare and generous,” said Guild Education CEO Rachel Carson.
The benefit is likely to be used by the nearly 90 percent of Discover employees without bachelor's degrees who work in the company’s customer care centers, all of which are located in the U.S.
Employees are able to choose among the Brandman, University of Florida (UF Online) and Wilmington University. Employees will be able to start on their first day of employment.
