Dr. David Sloan

Dr. Sloan has been active in science education throughout his teaching career. He has experience teaching junior high school and high school science and health classes, as well as bringing grade level appropriate science lessons into the various grades of elementary school classes. He has also worked with special needs students in programs such as Saddle Pals and Adapted Aquatics. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Sloan has served as an interim director for the California Science Teachers Association, and as a Team Lead with NASA’s MUREP program. He is also active on a variety of panels, boards and commissions at the county and state level regarding teacher education. Dr. Sloan continues to return to the classroom as a substitute teacher at a local high school. Staying current with the latest science, the latest in teacher education, and the current students in our public schools is important to Dr. Sloan, and he brings this expertise into his science and education classes here at UMass Global.
