Biography
George Cigale is the President of New Classrooms, a New York City based non-profit organization committed to changing the paradigm of math education by enabling individualized competency-based learning.
George previously founded Tutor.com and served as its CEO until it was acquired by IAC in 2013. Under George's leadership, Tutor.com became the leading provider of on-demand instructional solutions for students and professionals. He currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of Columbia University Teachers College, as a Trustee on the Board of The Wild Center, as an observer on the Board of Higher Ground Education, and on the Advisory Board of Johns Hopkins Medicine Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences.
George received a BA in Political Science from SUNY Binghamton. When not thinking about education technology, how we learn, and the future of work, George is to learning about the intersection of fungi, microbiomes, nutrition, evolution, and health and wellness, and spending time in the Adirondack woods.
