Biography

Dr. Nicole Schneider is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at University of Massachusetts Global. She recently joined UMass Global’s Ontario Campus in the Spring of 2014. Her expertise is K-8 literacy instruction and teaches in the Multiple Subject Credential Program. Nicole earned her Doctorate of Education, Educational Leadership, from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Nicole has a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from California State University in Fullerton and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh.

Dr. Schneider taught literacy methods courses in the Teacher Education Program at Lees-McRae College in North Carolina and taught graduate reading courses at Grand Canyon University, Arizona for over five years. Nicole is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as a Reading Specialist Credential in California. Nicole spent over ten years teaching elementary school in southern California. In addition to being a classroom teacher, she served as a Reading Specialist and an English Language Development teacher.

Dr. Schneider resides with her husband and three children in Riverside, California. She enjoys reading and doing CrossFit during her free time.
