Sean began his work with Chapman University College, now University of Massachusetts Global, in 2007 with a primary focus of improving student support services. Prior to joining UMass Global, Sean worked at Inside Track to develop their coaching model and manage the coaching services for several universities, including Chapman University.
Sean currently provides leadership for Academic Advising, One Stop student services, and a number of other departments at UMass Global. He manages the fully on line campus and has created many best practices for supporting fully online students. He also manages the student services for UMass Global My Path, UMass Global’s competency based learning modality, where he has created a support model which not only supports students but provides rich data on student success.
During his time at UMass Global, Sean restructured the advising model and, in collaboration with academic leadership, developed a nationally recognized model which combines professional advising with academic mentorship. During the last 13 years of Sean’s tenure, the university has seen consistent increases in retention, graduation, and student satisfaction rates.
