Dr. Kim Bundy-Fazioli received her Ph.D. (2004) and MSW (1983) from the UAlbany, State University of NY. She has been a licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) since 1992. Dr. Bundy-Fazioli is a practicing social worker, clinical supervisor, educator, and trainer. Her role as a practitioner spans her 17 years of experience in child welfare (residential placement, group homes, school-based prevention, detention services, and therapeutic foster care) as a clinician, manager and director to academe where she has researched and published in the areas of child neglect, grandparents raising grandchildren and professional power in social work practice. She is nationally and internationally known for her work on professional power in social work and how this intersects with power, privilege, and oppression. In 2014, she, along with her colleagues, were awarded the Best Research Article in the Journal of Social Work Education (49, 1, pp.108-121) titled, “Graduate Students’ Perceptions of Professional Power in Social Work Practice.” This award reflects Dr. Bundy-Fazioli’s dedication to enriching service delivery for all persons regardless of any and all perceived differences. In addition, Dr. Bundy-Fazioli integrates mindfulness-based interventions into her education and practice. She is certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Koru Mindfulness, and Yoga. The integration of these mind-body based interventions, along with the growing neuroscience research, provide evidence and new techniques to offer persons who struggle with emotional, mental, and physical health and wellbeing issues.
