This undergraduate-level course is designed to provide educators with basic knowledge about Latino culture and Spanish language so they can communicate with parents and students on a basic level.
Spanish for Educators Program Overview
The Spanish for Educators course is relevant for all teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators working in today’s changing educational landscape.
Previous Spanish language experience is not required. This course fulfills the humanities breadth requirement in the foreign languages area.
As a student you will:
- Understand the culture of the monolingual population.
- Learn the vocabulary and phrases necessary to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and parents.
Who should enroll:
- Teachers, credential candidates, paraprofessionals and administrators interested in learning how to better communicate with their Latino students, parents and other constituents.
